The World Association for Veterinary Dermatology (WAVD) is pleased to announce the availability of additional scholarship grants for attendance at the WCVD7 Congress in 2012.  A recent generous private donation to the Scholarship Fund has enabled the WAVD to extend the number of scholarship grants designed to provide financial support to encourage veterinarians to attend the Congress. A particular emphasis will be placed on identifying veterinarians that have a demonstrated interest in veterinary dermatology but with limited access to continuing education and a genuine financial need.

The WAVD aims to promote the global development of veterinary dermatology and expects that selected applicants will use knowledge and skills acquired at the Congress to advance veterinary dermatology in their geographic region.

The scholarship consists of a free full registration to WCVD7 and a travel and accommodation cash allowance of 1000 dollars US.   Delegates will be responsible for their own travel and accommodation expenses.  The allowance will be awarded to delegates at WCVD7.

The following selection criteria need to be addressed in the scholarship application:

1. proof of veterinary qualification*,
2. evidence of interest and commitment to veterinary dermatology;
3. a statement of financial need,
4. proof of residency in a country with limited access to continuing education in veterinary dermatology
5. proof of adequate skills in reading and writing English;
6. a letter of recommendation, which should be in electronic form

Selection Procedure:

A Selection Committee from the WAVD Board has been appointed and will evaluate the applications.

Please note that if you have already submitted an application for the first round of Scholarship Grants that you do not need to apply again. Any unsuccessful applicants for the first round of scholarships will automatically be considered for these additional scholarship grants.

Please note that no geographic exclusion applies to this round of Scholarship grants. All applicants who fulfil the criteria are encouraged to apply
